All homework should come home and be returned in your child's homework folder. The homework folder will also contain login name and passwords for different websites that we will use during the school year so that you are able to access them at home as well. Please make sure that this homework folder is returned on a daily basis as it is essential for your child to stay organized to be successful in third grade.
Projects for Learning
Students in third grade will get the chance to be creative while completing their homework this year! We will be doing literacy and math projects to work on standards that we are currently working on in third grade. Students will be give ONE math project a week OR TWO literacy projects a week. These will be given on Thursday and will be due the following Wednesday. Each project turned in on time will then turn into a piece of a prize. Each quarter students will be working towards completing a complete prize for our quarter rewards party.
Students may not always have the exact same projects because we will base student projects on what they are currently working on in class and which standards they still need additional practice with. Please contact me if you have any questions about these projects!

Math Fact Practice
In order for your child to be successful in math they need to have all of their math facts memorized. At the beginning of the year they will need to have their addition and subtraction facts memorized. This will give them a great advantage during our math block. Towards the middle of the year we will begin to work on multiplication. When we start working on multiplication in the classroom, it is extremely important for you to work with your child on these facts weekly at home. We will spend quite a bit of time doing this during the school day but to reinforce these skills, they need to be worked on at home a few nights a week.
